Empowering Your Prayers

“A prayer that yields powerful results is normal in God’s sight.”

Prayer was something that was introduced to me at a young age. It was religiously enforced in our household. Though it may have been somewhat obligatory, I typically found prayer comforting, particularly when a group of people conjoined in one harmonious accord.

I recently came across an empowering Bible plan that urged me to reexamine my understanding of prayer. To say the least, it was gratifying to contemplate through it with a dear friend of mine.

Biblical first instances of prayer

This reflective plan features an account of the first prayers uttered by biblical figures (Genesis 20, 24, &25). What stood out to me through those chapters was how the Most High deliberately answers the prayers of His offspring. It was intricate to the T, particularly in the case of Abraham’s servant, who entrusted the burden to find a suitable helpmeet for Isaac in the hands of the Most High. These testimonial accounts helped me realize how prayer can salvage a nation. Our Eternal Creator truly listens, and it goes far beyond the empirical realm of this world.

Benefits of a healthy prayer life

I am grateful to have learned the power of prayer at a young age, even though this habit didn’t truly solidify until early adulthood. Trusting in the Lord and surrendering to the guidance of the Holy Spirit awakened me to the serene tranquility of the Kingdom. So many things have unfolded these past few years that genuinely stamped this truth in my heart.

It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the Word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss, they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. – Hebrews 6:4-6

Based on such premise, I came to foresee my prayers: as a way to build my personal relationship with my Creator, more so to bear fruit that glorifies His Likeness. Regardless of what course I would take in my life, I understood that my story was written, the same way yours was tailored for your path. That’s the Father’s omnipresence.

Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalms 23:6

I used to pray a lot for an easy life, but the Grace of the Lord has shown me otherwise, my heart is constantly being renewed. I now understand that my choices were not solely intended for my welfare; the Most High stamped on it and His will sees it through, for it is for His namesake. Accepting this truth brought upon me a sense of clarity and peace, I am forever grateful to the Most High, to my righteous and benevolent King, and my Comforter who reveals to me what my Father desires me to know in Christ Jesus. Amen.

I pray that you all are doing well, and are replenished by the Grace of the Most High.
